New feature: Reporting on messages

Written by Christian Steffensen | 03/03/17 11:59

We recently introduced a great new feature in "Reporting" that allows you to understand the effect on all messages - both emails and text messages (SMS). Now you can see who opens, clicks or doesn't receive your messages. This is the first step to help you understand the impact of all the efforts you put into your communication. It also allows you to start experimenting and comparing what works and what does not.

A shift from newsletters to messages

We have talked a lot about how segmentation of people is an important step to improve communication and make it more personal and relevant. We are really happy to see a lot of segments being created based on different criteria. As a result, more people receive the information they want and build a relationship with their church. At the same time we are seeing the frequency of communication shifting from "Spring Newsletter" to much more frequent messages.

Understand the impact of your communication

This is all great but we also want to help you understand the impact of all the efforts you and your team put into this. We recently introduced the first great step by releasing "Reporting" on all messages - both emails and text messages (SMS). Now you can see who opens, clicks or doesn't receive your messages. Another great value is the ability to compare how your messages have been received to understand trends in how people engage with your content. As always - fully integrated and connected with the rest of your ChurchDesk :-)

Data will help you understand and improve

We also hope the new data on your communication will help you start experimenting and improving. From talking to our customers we know that many things have an effect on the way people engage with messages. You might want to start trying out different things to compare the results. A few ideas would be to spend time creating engaging email subject lines, use placeholders to personalize your messages, make use of scheduling to send out at the best possible time and obviously look at ways your content can be modified to increase the effect.

The "Reporting" is released and already part of People. You might already have noticed it and started using it. The perspectives are great and we will continue to work on visualizing the result and impact of your work. If you have ideas or thoughts to this please let us know!
