German-based KaPlan Software, specialized in serving the Catholic Church, is joining ChurchDesk

We are thrilled to announce that KaPlan Software, a pioneer in software solutions for the Catholic Church in Germany, joins ChurchDesk. This marks a significant milestone for ChurchDesk, solidifying our position as a leading European technology partner for churches.

A new chapter for KaPlan Software

Hans-Jörg Jödike, the founder of KaPlan Software, has chosen this moment to find a new home for his company, which serves over 500 Catholic parishes and dioceses in Germany. We are delighted to welcome their talented team and honor their dedicated service to the church.

Founded 15 years ago, KaPlan Software shares our deep understanding of church needs and a commitment to enhancing their tools. Originally launched on a CD-ROM, KaPlan's journey mirrors our own, and we are excited to build on their legacy, continuing to serve their customers with unwavering dedication.

Why joining forces?

  • A new home for KaPlan: Hans-Jörg has decided to pass the torch after 15 years. He was a pioneer, and ChurchDesk is proud to carry his legacy forward, with Hans-Jörg staying involved as an advisor.
  • A perfect fit: KaPlan chose ChurchDesk for our strong product vision and professional organization. Both companies have a robust market presence among Catholic churches, and this merger will mutually benefit our customers and teams.
  • Long-Term partnership: As customer demands grow, so do the needs of the church. By joining ChurchDesk, KaPlan customers will enjoy new features and functionalities in the future.

The merger with KaPlan strengthens ChurchDesk's position as the European market leader in church and community software. Whether it's member communication, fundraising, parish websites, large parish administration, or the digital parish office: ChurchDesk offers everything from a single source, for both Protestant and Catholic churches. In the area of "Church Management Software," ChurchDesk is the largest and most established provider in Europe, working with thousands of individual parishes and dioceses. For regional churches and dioceses, ChurchDesk offers modular solutions that integrate into the existing software landscape or replace old models with modern software-as-a-service.

Team KaPlan

What happens next?

The KaPlan team will join ChurchDesk, continuing to support their current customers. KaPlan users will experience no changes and will remain on their existing products, supported by the same team. In time, they will be offered the opportunity to benefit from ChurchDesk's expanded products, enhanced with KaPlan's well-loved features. Together, we will continue to develop leading software for the long-term benefit of the church.

Statements from leadership

Hans-Jörg Jödike, Founder of KaPlan Software, shares: "I’ve been in charge of developing KaPlan from the start, and taking care of my team and our customers is really important to me. Teaming up with ChurchDesk gives our parishes and employees a great long-term future. ChurchDesk and KaPlan share the same vision of what good software should do for the church now and in the future. While my role changes, I will remain involved to ensure a smooth transition for everyone."

Hanno Terbuyken, Country Manager at ChurchDesk, welcomes the KaPlan team and customers: "In ChurchDesk, the church has a reliable partner to support them in their development. This expands our team and brings in 15 years of KaPlan’s experience and knowledge. Together, we can support churches and congregations across Europe. I eagerly anticipate the long-term partnerships ahead!"
